For a more convenient and quicker run, the Yampa River town stretch is a great option.
Intermediate Steamboat Rafting
For those looking to stir up a bit more adrenaline, the Elk and Eagle Rivers offer Class III and IV rapids. These streches are more agressive and require paddlers to work together as a team to navigate around obstacles such as waves and boulders.
Advanced Rafting in Steamboat
If you've rafted class III or IV in the past and you are ready to step it up, Cross Mountain Canyon on the Yampa River may be the answer. This Class IV/V trip is for individuals who are in good physical condition and want to work hard for their thrills.

The Yampa River town stretch runs through Steamboat. Juniper Canyon on the Yampa
River is 55 miles from Steamboat. The Upper Colorado is 55 miles from Steamboat
The Elk River is only 20 minutes from Steamboat, the Eagle is an hour and a half. The Arkansas River is about 2 hours from Steamboat, an hour from Summit County and 45 minutes from Vail.
Cross Mountain Canyon on the Yampa River
is 2 hours from Steamboat. Rafting experience and good physical condition required!
